Position: Student Ministry Pastor
Location: Santa Rosa Campus
Reports to: Lead Pastor
FLSA: Exempt, ministerial exception
Job Status: Full-time
This role provides visionary leadership and pastoral care for students (grades 6–12), their families, and married couples, aligning all ministry efforts with Bayside’s vision to Reach Wide, Grow Deep, and Unleash Compassion. This role requires a strategic and relational leader who can build teams, disciple students, equip parents, strengthen marriages, and integrate youth and family life into the broader church community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Oversight
- Cast vision and provide direction for all student ministry programs (grades 6–12).
- Build and lead a dynamic team of staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Oversee discipleship pathways for youth transitioning into adulthood.
- Integrate marriage enrichment and preparation programming for parents of teens.
Teaching & Equipping
- Teach regularly at youth gatherings, events, and retreats with biblical clarity and cultural relevance.
- Create or curate curriculum addressing cultural issues such as identity, relationships, sexuality, mental health, and deepening faith.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling for students in partnership with the pastoral care team.
Family & Church Integration
- Partner with parents as primary spiritual leaders in their teens’ lives.
- Champion a culture of inclusion where teens are fully engaged in the church community.
- Align student programs with the broader mission and rhythms of the church.
Parent Support & Equipping
- Design pathways for parents of teens to connect, grow, and lead spiritually in the home.
- Host quarterly parent forums addressing topics like Gen Z understanding, emotional health, and faith at home.
- Assist in the creation of a digital Parent Resource Hub with curated materials and support tools.
- Collaborate with the Married Life Ministries to develop classes, workshops, retreats, and small groups for parents of teenagers.
- Equip couples with biblical tools to strengthen communication, intimacy, conflict resolution, parenting, and spiritual growth.
Strategic Outreach & Campus Ministry
- Lead efforts to reach every local high school campus through student leaders, clubs, and events.
- Build trust with school administrators and maintain a consistent presence at student activities.
- Mobilize the church to “Find a need & meet it. Find a hurt & heal it,” especially around teens.
Thrive Discipleship & Regional Impact
- Partner with the Thrive team to design seamless discipleship pipelines that reduce post-graduation church drop-off.
- Equip and train youth pastors locally, nationally, and globally through strategic partnerships and leadership development.
Administrative Leadership
- Manage ministry budgets, calendar planning, communications, and policy compliance.
- Oversee retreats, mission trips, and special events that deepen faith and community.
- Maintain appropriate safety and boundary standards for all youth and family ministry activities.
Team & Culture Building
- Foster a healthy, Christ-centered team culture through weekly check-ins, prayer, and shared vision.
- Understand and activate each team member’s unique gifts, passions, and anointing.
- Prioritize love, encouragement, and gospel-centered ministry in all interactions.
Core Ministry Values

Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Student Ministries.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to cast vision, develop strategy, and implement effective ministry systems.
- Experience managing ministry budgets, event planning, and administrative tasks.
- Passion for discipling middle and high school students and engaging with their families.
