Position Summary
Concordia University seeks applicants for the position of Full-time Faculty and Direct Entry MSN (DE-MSN) Program Coordinator in the School of Nursing at the Ann Arbor (CUAA), MI campus. The successful candidate is a registered nurse whose responsibilities include coordination of the DE-MSN Program within the framework established by the university and the SON (4 TCs) and other teaching responsibilities in the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs (20 TCs) annually. This is a twelve-month on-site position with the administrative portion renewed annually. The program coordinator reports to the Director of Graduate Nursing.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
DE-MSN Coordinator Role:
- Implements the DE-MSN Program on the Ann Arbor campus with guidance from the Director of Graduate Nursing and in collaboration with the CUW DE-MSN program coordinator.
- Presents matters of concern to the Director of Graduate Nursing.
- Reviews course evaluations each semester and plans for improvement in collaboration with the Director of Graduate Nursing.
- Contributes to required reports for the Michigan State Board of Nursing, the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing, AACN, HLC and CCNE.
- Adheres to program policies.
- Displays strong commitment to student success and advises students as necessary.
- Collaborates with the Director of Graduate Nursing to determine teaching assignments.
- Ensures the clinical coordinator maintains student and faculty records, including student health records.
- Oversees clinical placement and contractual agreements with affiliating agencies in conjunction with the Clinical Placement Coordinator and Contract Coordinator on the CUAA and CUW campuses.
- Participates in the student orientation for each cohort
- Oversee clinical faculty and clinical sites and assignments.
- Attends SON meetings as assigned and when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Full-time Faculty Role:
- Implement teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students
- Teach pre-licensure nursing courses as assigned by CUW department chair or program director.
- Provide timely written and verbal feedback related to student performance
- Keep current records of student grades and academic work
- Participate in ongoing course and program review and revision
- Participate in program governance
Professional Activity:
- Represents the University and DE-MSN Program at conferences, meetings, conventions, and in the community.
- Maintains current knowledge of and preferably active practice within the area of teaching responsibility
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Able to present a Christian and professional manner
- Demonstrates effective organizational skills, and is a self-starter
- Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations
- Candidates should possess strong written and oral communications skills
- Able to travel occasionally on behalf of the University
- All candidates should possess an ability to meet with possible clinical visits on nights and or weekends.

Education & Experience
- Current Wisconsin and Michigan licensure as a registered nurse or eligible for such licensure.
- An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field.
- Preferred areas of nursing expertise include medical/surgical, gerontology, mental health, pharmacology, community/public health, or leadership.
- Candidate must have teaching experience at the university level in baccalaureate and/or higher degree programs. Previous administrative experience is desired.

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience. Academic rank as designated by the President. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
