We’re looking for an energetic, people-friendly trainee who wants to learn sales, earn real income, and grow into a professional sales role — no experience required.
Position Summary
As an Outside Sales Trainee at High PSI, you will learn and support the sale of industrial cleaning, pressure washing, and related equipment, parts, and services in the assigned territory around Rockford, IL. You will work under the mentorship of senior sales staff, gradually taking on responsibility for prospecting, client visits, demonstrations, and closing deals. Over time, you will transition into a full-fledged outside sales role.
Key Responsibilities
During the training and ramp-up period (e.g. 6–12 months), your duties may include:
- Assist senior sales representatives in customer visits, site evaluations, and equipment demonstrations
- Shadow sales calls, learn consultative selling techniques, and help prepare proposals
- Participate in product training, technical familiarization with pressure washers, detergents, accessories, and maintenance services
- Support lead generation: cold calling, canvassing, setting appointments, qualifying prospects
- Help maintain and update CRM records (leads, opportunities, activities)
- Assist in preparing sales presentations, quotations, and cost analyses
- Accompany service or technical personnel to customer sites to understand customer needs and field conditions
- Learn to diagnose customer cleaning or equipment challenges and propose appropriate solutions
- Gradually take ownership of a small subset of accounts and prospects
- Provide follow-up, customer communication, and support to ensure satisfaction
- Track performance metrics, sales goals, and report progress to the Sales Manager
- Stay informed about competitive products, local market trends, and customer requirements
Once fully ramped, responsibilities will include full outside sales duties: prospecting, territory management, closing deals, service contracts, upselling parts & maintenance, etc.
