The supervisor will assist with oversight of general day-to-day and staff operations of the team. This position will oversee the System Navigators, Data Coordinator, and Data Specialist, to ensure data integrity, assist in training, and ensure entry of client level data from outreach services is being accurately recorded into the HMIS system. The Supervisor will be a liaison with the HMIS team members.

Position Duties

  • Supervise System Navigators, MDCRT Coordinators, and the Data Specialists.  Ensure that data is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of the work being done.
  • Run reports regularly to provide data to inform their supervision of staff.
  • Monitor departmental progress toward contract goals. 
  • Analyze service data to identify trends regarding geographic coverage, the effectiveness of engagement, resource needs, etc. 
  • Develop monthly reports detailing the work of the department for distribution to funders and elected officials. 
  • Provide training to MDCRT staff on the use of HMIS and other digital tools (including the use of hardware) to maximize efficiency in the field.
  • Identify and escalate any data integrity or data collection challenges to the upper management team and assist as appropriate to develop solutions to those challenges. 
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. 
  • Maintain professional relationships with offices of local government, and City and County Departments. 
  • Represent LAHSA at community meetings and conduct presentations with selected groups. 
  • Review Request for Service. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced level of experience with MS Office Suite, Looker, or other database platforms. 
  • Strong analytical ability. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituents. 
  • Work independently, be proactive, and exercise good judgment. 
  • Flexibility to work with individuals with varying work styles. 
  • Excellent time management and organization skills. 
  • Service-minded and open to new ideas and approaches. 
  • Attention to detail. 

Other Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of applicable training and experience may be substituted for education requirement. 
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in social services, especially with the homeless population. 

License Requirement

  • A valid California Class C driver's license is required at the time of hire. Employees must have a good driving record for a minimum of three (3) years.
