GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The CRM & Commercial Excellence Manager is responsible for driving commercial performance by ensuring the company’s CRM and related tools are effectively aligned with best-in-class sales processes and commercial strategies. This hands-on role combines system administration with process excellence, data governance, and change management. By owning both the technology and the processes behind it, the CRM & Commercial Excellence Manager ensures sales teams operate at peak efficiency and leadership has the insights needed to make confident business decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

CRM Ownership & Administration

• Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the CRM system, such as Dynamics 365.

• Configure and optimize workflows, automations, dashboards, and permissions to meet evolving business needs.

• Oversee integrations between the CRM and other commercial platforms, including ERP and marketing automation tools.

Commercial Excellence & Process Optimization

• Define, document, and enforce standardized sales processes covering lead management, opportunity stages, pipeline forecasting, and client onboarding.

• Collaborate with Sales Leadership to align CRM functionality with sales methodologies and strategic growth initiatives.

• Continuously enhance sales effectiveness by identifying bottlenecks, addressing gaps, and pursuing automation opportunities.

Data Governance & Insights

• Maintain data integrity and governance through regular audits, data cleansing, and standardization efforts.

• Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor pipeline health, conversion rates, and sales productivity.

• Provide actionable insights to Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Leadership to inform decision-making.

Training & Change Management

• Lead user training, onboarding, and adoption initiatives to promote CRM and process excellence.

• Create clear documentation and playbooks to support commercial teams.

• Act as a change champion by effectively communicating updates and new capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the liaison between Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure commercial alignment.

• Manage vendor relationships for CRM and commercial technologies.

• Support account-based marketing and client experience initiatives using CRM-driven insights.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment
  • Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen
  • Use of audio-visual equipment is required
  • Job will require regular and punctual attendance as well as presence on-site at the assigned work location.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong expertise in CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Dynamics 365, or similar, with a proven track record in administration and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of B2B sales processes, methodologies, and pipeline management.
  • Proficiency in reporting and business intelligence tools, including Power BI and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and commercial stakeholders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in CRM management, sales operations, or commercial excellence roles.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

Professional certification may be required in some cases
