Description

Contingent Upon Contract Award

The T-7 Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of technicians in maintaining T-7 aircraft systems at JBSA Randolph. The Superintendent will ensure all maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with technical data, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, while controlling, scheduling, and mitigating maintenance activities to support flight operations and vice versa. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and lead a team of technicians in maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing T-7 aircraft systems, including comm/nav, instrument systems, and mechanical/electrical components.
  • Oversee the use of technical orders, schematics, and diagrams for fault isolation and component-level repairs.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on aircraft and components as required, including troubleshooting, repairs, and installation/removal of panels and systems.
  • Act in the absence of senior leadership and perform duties as required to maintain the flow of maintenance operations.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are executed in compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and tool control programs and enforce adherence to FOD prevention policies.
  • Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance activities.
  • Control, schedule, and mitigate maintenance actions to align with flight operations, minimizing disruptions and ensuring aircraft availability for scheduled flights.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with flight operations to optimize resource utilization and resolve any conflicts that could impact mission readiness.
  • Review and approve maintenance records, ensuring all activities are documented in accordance with USAF and company policies.
  • Coordinate with senior maintenance personnel to ensure resource allocation and support for maintenance activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all maintenance activities and collaborate with US government personnel as required.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced personnel, ensuring they adhere to best practices and technical procedures.

 

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in aviation maintenance is preferred.

Experience

  • Must possess USAF 7-level certification and experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • 11-15 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including leading and supervising others in maintenance tasks.
  • 10+ years of experience as a site lead, overseeing and managing a team of flight technicians in a maintenance environment.
  • Experience working with T-7 aircraft or similar military aircraft systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, quality management systems, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with DoD systems (AFTO 781 forms, IMDS) is preferred for safe for flight.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible Flight Test Program environment.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, for effective collaboration with government personnel and team members.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical data, schematics, and drawings for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to ensure maintenance is performed efficiently and accurately.

Security Responsibilities

  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance, if required.
  • Must comply with all company information systems security policies and procedures.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and under aircraft/equipment.
  • Must be able to perform maintenance tasks in a shop floor environment, exposed to moving parts, electrical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Exposure to loud noises, airborne particles, and extreme heat may occur.
  • Must be available to travel domestically as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on Development Programs and Flight Test Programs.
  • Experience with DoD maintenance systems, including AFTO 781 forms and IMDS.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with US government personnel and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
