Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The Human Resources Generalist provides effective human resource services to plant’s hourly and salaried workforce with a primary focus on recruitment and plant support. They will also show an ability to problem solve and promote positive imaging for prospective employment candidates and community. This position is for the Lake Michigan Shoreline Campus supporting Multiple plants.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Efforts: Post jobs, evaluate applicants, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist with hiring decisions
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and budgeted headcount to develop effective recruitment strategies
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals
- Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment dashboards
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings
- Administer employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
- Maintain and update HRIS systems and personnel records
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment las and regulations
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Coordinate employee engagement activities
- Administer and process payroll for hourly workforce
- Work with HR team in resolving employee relations issues
- Seek continuous improvement in overall HR practices and procedures

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–4 years of HR experience required, 5-10 years preferred
- Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
