Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee the development and preparation of purchase orders. You will act in accordance with Bechtel and project purchasing procedures. You will participate in negotiations, solve problems, and communicate with suppliers to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements and achieve the required service to meet project needs.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Note: This position will start in Reston, later will need to mobilize to the field.
Major Responsibilities:
Prepares, maintains, and monitors project bidder’s lists, ensuring input is received from all procurement functions and other operational groups
Ensure purchase order terms and conditions are compliant with Bechtel and project requirements
Forms, issues, and administers purchase orders
Directs negotiations in the commitment of purchases, following review and approval of the proposed negotiating plan by the designated supervisor

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in purchasing, agreement / order drafting (with legal support as required), administration and negotiation of changes, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
Working knowledge purchase order administration, home office and field procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction projects.
General knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting, purchasing, and material management practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and industry policies, procedures and work practices
Possesses experience and knowledge of project purchasing and PO administration activities.
