Your Role as a Distribution Supervisor

As a Distribution Supervisor, you will report to the Distribution Manager and oversee a dynamic team of up to 25 direct reports, including Drivers, Dispatchers, and Schedulers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining compliance, and driving efficiency across the shift.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of Drivers, Dispatchers, and Schedulers, ensuring fair and equitable workloads.
  • Monitor and improve operational efficiency through time studies, driver movements, and routing improvements.
  • Enforce safety protocols, conduct accident investigations, and work with the Corporate Transportation Safety Compliance Coordinator.
  • Oversee tractor cleanliness, maintenance, and uniformity standards.
  • Generate and review bills of lading, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations and foster team development.
  • Uphold quality management processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and motor freight regulations.
  • Operate equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency and computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with transportation safety, compliance, and logistics operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Forklift and reach truck certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or similar role is a plus.
