POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a liaison between the credit union and small businesses. The Small Business Banker II will provide comprehensive banking solutions and personalized services to small business members. This is accomplished by managing and growing a portfolio of small business accounts, assist with loan origination and underwriting, and offer tailored financial advice to help business owners succeed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SUPPORTING DUTIES:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of small business members, building strong relationships to understand their financial needs and objectives.
- Provide exceptional service and advice tailored to each business’s unique needs.
- Assist small business owners in obtaining the appropriate financial products, including term loans, lines of credit, and business credit cards.
- Identify opportunities to offer small business members a range of financial products and services, such as business checking and savings accounts, merchant services, and treasury management. Educate members on available solutions and recommend products that align with their goals.
- Proactively monitor and manage the health of your portfolio, ensuring timely follow-ups on loan renewals, credit limit increases, and account changes.
- Conduct periodic reviews of accounts to ensure they meet business member needs and the credit union’s risk management standards.
- any complex issues or concerns raised by small business members, providing timely solutions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and improve the overall member experience.
- Work closely with the business banking team, underwriting, and other departments to ensure smooth loan origination, processing, and servicing
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of similar or related experience.
Preferred Experience: Some lending and credit analysis (Consumer or Commercial) experience.
Required Knowledge: Basic math, basic understanding of business banking products, services and processes including business loans and credit union products.
