The Cardiovascular Intervention Center (CVIC) is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.
As a Clinical Nurse III specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVIC), you will take on substantial responsibility and accountability for applying the nursing process and delivering exceptional patient care. You will operate in a high-demand environment, focusing primarily on Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedure rooms, as well as the Holding area.
In this role, you will be cross-trained to apply your clinical skills to circulate, monitor, and scrub for invasive procedures, catering to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. You will provide comprehensive care for cardiac patients from their admission through discharge, which includes spending extended hours in a procedural setting with x-ray exposure.
Key responsibilities also involve providing on-call coverage for emergency procedures during evenings, nights, and weekends, with an expected maximum response time of 30 minutes.
