THE ROLE: The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the full vertical construction process of 7+ projects to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet all quality, safety, and local regulations. The Construction Superintendent must ensure all information is input into the system in real time to allow for an accurate and updated project status.


DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Oversees the vertical construction process for 5-9 projects overseeing each stage of the process from permitting to home delivery (and first-year warranty if required). 
  • Responsible for all aspects of construction schedules keeping updated and accurate. Ensures trade partners, material deliveries, and inspections meet all requirements and schedules to keep the process on track and on or ahead of timeline. 
  • Ensures all contractors and partners meet TJH construction standards and jurisdictional requirements adhering to the expectations at every site throughout each stage. Of the build process. 
  • Acts as the Company’s primary representative on the job site with third parties including employees, contractors, trade partners, buyers, and government inspectors and investigators. 
  • Manages contractors and team members, including initiating and submitting changes approve completed tasks, withholding payments for unsatisfactory or incomplete work; inspects work and approves payment
  • Meet or exceed established cycle time goals per job to ensure on time and on budget performance. 
  • May oversee Assistant Construction Managers activities; provides training and feedback to foster their growth and advancement. 
  • Maintain a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits and observing OSHA and any state-level agencies' regulations.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings with staff and trade partners 
  • Ensure Quality Checkpoints are completed and provides daily status updates on the construction progress on each unit.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 2-4 years’ experience in construction. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license   
  • Proven ability to deliver increasingly complex work. 

WHAT WILL SET YOU A PART:

  • Has an advanced understanding of all stages of the homebuilding process including permitting, horizontal construction, vertical construction, quality standards, and construction requirements. 
  • Is an expert in knowledge and understanding of construction process, standards, requirements, and techniques to be able to observer contractors and evaluate if meet all standards and requirements, as well as all governmental requirements. 
  • Is able to read and interpret floor plans and explain and hold contractors accountable to meet all requirements and quality standards.
