Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services not only include basic medical care, but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition and other family programs.

Public Health is looking for a highly cooperative, motivated, and personable team member! We are a team of multi-disciplinary health care professionals heavily involved in community services and outreach to provide health promotion and disease prevention through public health interventions. The Manager of Social Services will supervise the Social Services team.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Greets patients and obtains appropriate registration information in a professional, customer service friendly manner. Checks in, schedules, and cancels patients and OKCIC employees appointments. Creates charts for patients and new employees as needed.

Determine eligibility status for new patients by obtaining the Certificate of Indian Blood (CDIB) or other documentary proof of tribal membership. Collects patient information: insurance verification, GPRA screenings and other necessary documents or annual updates needing to be signed by the patient. Updates chart information via RPMS, including verifying address, phone numbers and emergency contacts. Inputs and/or extracts data using RPMS, EHR, OSIIS, iCare, and women's health package.

Determine eligibility for Medicaid programs (SoonerCare, SoonerPlan, etc.) and assist with the application process. Submit SoonerCare applications online in a timely manner and conduct ongoing follow-up. Obtain eligibility via eligibility verification system over the Internet, using the patients Medicaid and/or Social Security information; updates Medicaid status. Screen for Marketplace eligibility. Copy third party recipient health care and explain billing and payment processes to patient and family members.

Contacts patients via telephone and mail concerning departmental appointments, reminders, and no show follow up. Updates patient charts from returned mail by calling patient or emergency contacts for new address or phone number.

Provides administrative support to Public Health staff and other Departments upon request. Sorts, screens and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles. Maintains filing system by establishing new files; files additional documents as needed. Utilizes Excel and Word to create tracking systems for functions and/or outreach events.

Performs clerical and secretarial duties, including typing drafts, memoranda, letters, reports, document scanning, re-stocking supplies, managing phone calls, maintaining professional work environment for staff, and other duties as directed by Director, Public Health.

Qualifications
- Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values.
- At least 3 years experience in a Medical Office setting, preferably community health with benefits and/or registration roles
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Social Services experience preferred (housing, transportation, food, etc.)
- Must have experience with Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc) or Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience with EHR/RPMS preferred.
