Saxum is seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, trust, and results. The Vice President, Client Strategy, will play a critical role in strengthening how Saxum defines and delivers value for our partners. This leader will guide a portfolio of client relationships, mentor a team of strategists, and ensure the consistent delivery of impactful, insight-driven work.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Client Partnerships & Strategy, this role partners closely with Domain Catalysts and Operations to align strategy, delivery, and measurable outcomes across Saxum’s portfolio.

About the Role

The VP, Client Strategy, is accountable for the health, performance, and growth of key client relationships. They will:

  • Lead a portfolio of clients, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and ensuring delivery excellence.
  • Mentor and coach strategists and account leads to strengthen client advisory skills and strategic acumen.
  • Collaborate with Domain Catalysts and Operations to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.
  • Champion Saxum’s value-based partnership approach, ensuring every engagement is grounded in outcomes and measurable impact.
  • Support business growth through renewals, expansions, and strategic participation in proposals and pitches.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Advisory

  • Own and manage a portfolio of client relationships, serving as the senior strategic advisor.

  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with client executives to drive clarity, alignment, and measurable success.

  • Lead strategic engagements that help clients anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve meaningful outcomes.

  • Translate client needs and market insights into actionable strategies and creative direction.

  • Partner with the SVP, Client Partnerships & Strategy to align client strategies with Saxum’s broader vision and offerings.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and coach members of the Client Strategy team to build advisory confidence, strategic thinking, and leadership capability.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and collaboration.

  • Contribute to systems for performance management, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.

Partnership & Integration

  • Collaborate with Domain Catalysts (Creative, Networked Media, Strategic Communications, Emerging Technology) to ensure seamless execution from strategy through delivery.

  • Partner with Operations to align resourcing, profitability, and performance standards with client expectations.

  • Support cross-functional planning and collaboration to drive client and agency success.

Growth & Performance

  • Identify opportunities to deepen and expand client partnerships through renewals and strategic growth.

  • Support business development through participation in new business opportunities and proposals.

  • Manage portfolio profitability, retention, and growth through disciplined planning and execution.

  • Lead quarterly reviews and retrospectives to assess progress, refine strategies, and reinforce impact.

Visibility & Thought Leadership

  • Represent Saxum in client meetings, industry events, and community initiatives.

  • Contribute to thought leadership and relationship-building efforts that enhance Saxum’s reputation and visibility.

Experience & Mindset

  • 8+ years in marketing, communications, or consulting, with significant client leadership experience.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex client portfolios.

  • Strong presence and skill in advising senior executives.

  • Fluency in integrated strategy across brand, communications, and data-driven insight.

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI, analytics, automation) and how they drive strategic impact.

  • Track record of achieving measurable client results and fostering long-term relationships.

  • Leadership style grounded in integrity, empathy, and a growth mindset.

  • High client satisfaction and retention within managed portfolio.

  • Measurable growth in portfolio revenue and client engagement scope.

  • Effective team mentorship and development.

  • Strong collaboration across Client Strategy, Operations, and Domain Catalysts.

  • Positive contribution to Saxum’s visibility and thought leadership in the community.

Location & Commitment

This position is based in Oklahoma City and requires regular in-office presence. Collaboration, mentorship, and visibility are essential to success in this role.
