As a UI/UX Designer I at Disney, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and user experience of our streaming platform, Disney+. This early career position is crucial in maintaining Disney's reputation as a leading-edge entertainment company, where innovation and storytelling are at the core. You will work within a collaborative and strategic team environment, contributing to the creation of world-class artwork that enhances the user experience for millions globally. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, an independent work ethic, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Ideate and concept creative ways to leverage artwork in innovative and unexpected ways
  • Regularly receive and provide creative feedback to guide early concepts and polish final executions

  • Coordinate with program managers to kickoff, progress, and deliver creative projects 

  • Communicate creative concepts, aesthetic choices, and visual execution effectively with peers 

  • Champion artwork design to improve and drive audience engagement 

  • Maintain a solid understanding of product design specifications and guidelines 

  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships across The Walt Disney Company 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Proven understanding of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite 

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices  

  • Process-driven and extremely detail-oriented 

  • Self-motivated problem solver and great communicator  

  • Strong work ethic, are reliable, adaptable, and work well with others  

  • Curiosity about and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and analytical thinking 

  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch with ease in a fast-paced, and ever-evolving organization 

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience   
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $87,100 to $116,700 per year and in New York, NY is $91,200 to $122,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
