Job Description:
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Pay rate is $35/hour for law student
Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
ABA’s Internship provides students with a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference.
ABA Summer Internships are hybrid with at least 2 days a week in our DC office. Internship positions are not eligible for healthcare insurance coverage.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct legal research on consumer finance law and regulation, to support attorneys developing comment letters and other RCP work product.
Summarize regulatory proposals, legal opinions, and legislative bills relevant to consumer banking, as directed by RCP attorneys.
Attend and take notes on internal and external meetings, webinars, congressional hearings, and working groups.
May be assigned additional projects such as drafting memoranda on an assigned area of law or monitoring and providing updates on emerging issues.
Required Skills
Law student interested in consumer financial services law and policy, and in regulatory and administrative law
Excellent legal writing and research skills
Motivated and hardworking, and enthusiastic about ABA's mission to advocate for America's banks.
Background or study relevant to banking, economics, government, or public policy a plus, but not required
Salary Band Range:
