Hiring for a Transporter or Surgical Support Tech

Shift:  M-F 11:00am - 7:30pm    

Job Description:

Transporter- Transports patients and runs errands. Turn over each OR room in-between cases and assists with positioning of patients as needed. Stocks and organizes supplies in OR suite.

Surgical Support Tech- Performs a variety of patient-related and technical duties in support of operating room. Transports patients and assists with their transfer, positioning and/or restraining under the supervision of the professional staff.

Qualifications:

Transporter

Surgical Support Tech

• High school graduate or equivalent. 
• Current North Carolina NA I certification and in good standing on the NC registry. 
• Proficient in basic clerical skills and use of basic office machines. 
• Ability to read and understand instructions and keep records. 
• Incumbent will be required to attain BLS certification within three months of employment. 
• Incumbent will be required to demonstrate competency in the performance of duties specific to all age groups of patients. 
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer application skills and general knowledge of sterile technique/surgical supplies preferred.

Experience:  

Transporter- No prior experience required.

Surgical Support Tech- Previous hospital experience preferred, or similar work environment. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within 3 months.
