What You’ll Do
As a Medical Records Technician at Logan Health – Conrad, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy, privacy, and accessibility of patient health information. This position is an important part of our Health Information Management (HIM) team, ensuring every record is handled with care, compliance, and confidentiality.
You’ll help manage the release of patient information, support electronic health record (EHR) processes, and collaborate across departments to maintain excellence in medical record integrity. Your attention to detail and commitment to privacy help keep our operations running smoothly and our patients’ information protected.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the release of patient information in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Review and validate authorizations for medical record requests.
Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations, including CMS guidelines and privacy practices.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and interdisciplinary teams to support ROI operations and ensure policy alignment.
Conduct audits and generate reports to track ROI activity and identify process improvements.
Oversee patients’ rights to inspect, amend, or restrict access to their medical records.
Assist in developing and standardizing organization-wide ROI procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Support broader HIM functions including document preparation, scanning, indexing, and record maintenance.
Communicate professionally with patients, internal departments, and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Need
Required:
One (1) year of experience in an administrative office or healthcare setting
ORPost-high school or vocational training
Preferred:
Minimum of three (3) years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience
Experience with Release of Information (ROI)
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIM processes in an electronic health record (EHR) environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
