- Supervises, schedules, instructs and oversees security electronics staff with daily tasks, job assignments and projects
- Utilizes Facility Management System for work orders and inventory
- Performs service calls as needed which may include emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.
- Reviews and recommends department purchases, while maintaining an inventory of critical spare parts
- Schedules all required inspections and preventative maintenance for life safety systems, electronic controls and security devices; Involved in security electronics planning for new construction and projects
- Evaluates County building conditions and provides recommendations for repair and/or upgrades; Research new technologies and makes recommendations for system improvements
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 5 years job related experience; of which 3 years shall include supervisory preferred.
- Technical school training. Knowledge of NFPA code requirements, life safety equipment, industrial commercial fire alarm systems including, electronic access systems, CCTV surveillance systems, intercom systems, detention security systems, IP networking, burglar/intrusion alarm systems, information network infrastructure, network video recorders, network switches, network routers, and power supply systems.
- Working knowledge of various computer systems and software packages.
- Ability to read, draw and interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC schematics, online diagrams and control sequence of operations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to make sound decisions.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with vendors, other employees, and elected officials.
- Current employee of Fort Bend County Facilities Department.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $28.80 - $36.00 hourly based on qualifications
