Certification Required: Candidate must hold State of Maine Certification, (045) Assistant Building Administrator and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education. A minimum of five years’ experience in the field of public education, including experience as a classroom teacher. A Master’s Degree completed or in progress is also required.
Qualifications: MSAD 11 is looking for a collaborative, dynamic, and results oriented leader for Gardiner Area High School. MSAD 11 has six schools with one high school serving students from four towns: Gardiner, Pittston, Randolph, and West Gardiner. The school has approximately 562 students and 87 staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in the well-being of students and staff and:
Contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students;
Understand the academic and social needs of high school students;
Have strong organization and communication skills;
Have proven ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community;
Is able and willing to be visible and engaging with students, staff, and families;
Appreciate the balance between what is working well and new ideas and practices;
Develop a clear and cohesive vision for continuous improvement with support from the district, staff, and families;
Have a working understanding of change management and multi-tiered systems of support at the secondary level;
Support high functioning teams;
Use various points of data to inform decision-making; and
Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
