Objective

Under the general supervision of one of the Service Desk Team Leads, the Information Technology Services (ITS) Support Center Technician is responsible for the Customer Service Satisfaction of inbound incidents. Candidate must complete the initial onboard training program within three months of hire.

Essential Functions

  • Understand and demonstrate the core expectations and service standards of the ITS Department while utilizing the tools required of the position
  • Provide support to ITS customers, with the Service Desk team, by proactively assisting customers with their educational technology needs
  • Participate in a continuous, multi-level training program. The purpose of this program is to enable employees to advance in the knowledge and skills required for advancement
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Self-motivated individual who works well with others and on their own
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Entry skill level using Microsoft Office, email clients, and internet browsers
  • Entry skill level Microsoft and Mac operating systems
  • Aptitude for learning software packages quickly
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills: written, over the phone, and in person
  • Must be able to successfully complete ITS initial and subsequent training courses including evaluation period
  • Experience working one-on-one with customers

Preferred Requirements

  • Background in answering phones
  • Basic computer hardware skills and knowledge of audio visual equipment
  • Basic skill level using Microsoft Office, email clients, and internet browsers
  • Basic skill level Microsoft and Mac operating systems
  • Skilled at researching new solutions to technology problems

Work Environment/Conditions

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, multifunction printers/devices, and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a part-time position: Hours vary, 15-20 hours per week

No travel necessary for this position.
