Summary: The Bartender is a dynamic hospitality professional who delivers a refined, personable, and efficient beverage experience for Quail West members and guests. This role requires foundational bartending knowledge including classic cocktail preparation, accurate pouring techniques, and current mixology trends. Bartenders are expected to engage warmly with members, recall names and preferences, and create a welcoming bar atmosphere while maintaining high standards of professionalism and Club etiquette. Attention to beverage safety, portion accuracy, and cleanliness are paramount, as is the ability to multi-task in a high-volume, member-focused setting.

- Pay rate: $14/hr + gratuities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mixes and serves cocktails, wine, and beer with precision according to industry-standard recipes and portion control.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, garnishes, glassware, and cocktail preparation techniques.
- Operates point-of-sales (POS) systems to accurately charge member accounts and reconcile daily sales.
- Prepares the bar for service including stocking, setting up wells, cutting garnishes, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Provides personalized hospitality by learning and remembering member names and drink preferences.
- Maintains a welcoming, professional demeanor that reflects the tone of a private club.
- Monitors member consumption and upholds safe alcohol service practices per Club policy and legal regulations.
- Maintains a clean and organized bar environment, following proper sanitation and restocking procedures.
- Supports special events, pool service, and golf tournaments when applicable.
- Performs end-of-shift duties including bar cleanup, waste logging, and restocking.
- Advises Food and Beverage leadership of guest concerns, unusual consumption patterns, or inventory needs.
- Contributes to the overall member experience through teamwork, consistency, and service excellence.
- Completes any additional tasks assigned by the Beverage Supervisor or F&B Management.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer: Ability to proficiently use Microsoft office, (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Language: Ability to read, write and comprehend correspondence, memos, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of bartending experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or high-end restaurant.
- Solid understanding of classic cocktails, accurate measuring techniques, and current beverage trends.
- Professional appearance and polished communication skills.
- Outgoing, personable, and guest-focused with strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Must have or be able to obtain TIPS certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak season events.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and stooping.
- Work environment may involve moderate noise and active member interactions.
- Must maintain energy and awareness throughout extended shifts, particularly during busy events.
