Slows Bar BQ is looking for an energetic and passionate Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our team in Ann Arbor. As an AGM, you will play a vital role in assisting the General Manager with daily operations, ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience while also supporting the kitchen and service teams.
Summary of Position
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the management team in overseeing the restaurant's operations, including staff management, financial performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will assist in leading by example, promoting company culture, and helping train and develop team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant.
- Help hire, train, and develop staff to deliver high-quality service.
- Maintain a positive and safe work environment for all team members.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage financial aspects of the restaurant, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Facilitate communication between staff and management.
- Resolve customer complaints and maintain guest satisfaction.
- Promote and maintain company culture and values.

Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of financial management and budgeting processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Current ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous catering and event management experience
