This post is essential to ensure the effective delivery, oversight, and strategic expansion of the Disabled Facilities Grant programme in Havering. With increasing demand for DFG’s, the role provides leadership, financial management, and guidance to residents and the wider team.
It will enable the Council to maximise grant uptake, improve outcomes for vulnerable residents, and deliver a more integrated, efficient, and customer-focused service. The role is also responsible for 2 x G5 Case Officers and 1 x G6 Technical Officer.
Roles & Responsibility's:
- Advising departments on grant applications to ensure quality assistance for vulnerable residents.
- Identifying areas for grant consideration to complement existing services.
- Supporting the Senior Management team in strategic planning for service improvement.
- Leading and managing the team, overseeing work allocation, supervision, and staff hiring.
- Collaborating with key partners to provide a cohesive service for housing and related needs.
- Ensuring the efficient implementation of housing improvement schemes and wraparound services.
- Managing operational budgets for grants and adaptations, and providing regular reports on grant activities.
