About the Department
Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Clerical Assistant 2 - 9 month part time position at the Indiana main campus.
The Clerical Assistant 2 in Postal Services will provide daily mail services to faculty, staff and students, ensuring accurate processing, and customer support. Responsibilities include handling incoming and outgoing mail and packages, operating mailroom equipment, balancing registers and maintaining organized efficient postal operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- All tasks necessary to open and close the Post Office daily.
- Wait on faculty, staff, and students; provide customer service relating to their needs.
- Receive and process mail and packages, including but not limited to, scanning packages, organizing mail and packages for pickup.
- Resolve issues with all mail and packages that are incorrectly labeled or missing crucial information.
- Operate computers and advanced software related to the mail and packaging system.
- Operate and balance registers and mail machines.
- Complete daily paperwork.
- Process bulk mailings.

Monday
8:30am - 4:00pm
Tuesday- Friday
9:00am - 1:00pm

Position Duties
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title).
or
- Graduation from high school.
or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to travel to field locations and meeting/training sites by motor vehicle when required.
- Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the public.
- Use common office machines such as telephones, calculators, copiers, computer terminals, keyboards, video display terminals, auxiliary printers, and similar equipment.
- Perform manual duties such as lifting and carrying various weight limits.
- Operate office equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching and prolonged sitting or standing.
- Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers.
