Overview: The Director of Facilities & Physical Security Officer provides leadership and oversight of the Facilities and Physical Security departments.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Lease Management, New Construction and Renovation, Facilities Maintenance, Physical Security, MEP and Life Safety Systems. The Director will develop, maintain, and update all related policies and procedures. The Director will utilize risk analysis, monitoring, and testing procedures to evaluate and report on the current state of risk facing the organization.  Regular reporting will be provided to Senior Management and/or the Board of Directors.  

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the Credit Union’s lease portfolio.
  • Liaise with the Credit Union’s architectural, engineering and real estate partners.
  • Oversee new construction, renovation projects and routine facilities maintenance.
  • Provide direction and oversight for physical security, MEP and life safety systems.
  • Oversee Facilities Department operations, offsite storage and MCU auto fleet including managing vendors, escalating service requirements and enforcing contractual MSA agreements, SLA agreements and SOWs.
  • Lead and develop appropriate Physical Security and Life Safety plans for each location and conducting on-going training to staff members on safety procedures including monitoring on going threats, civil unrest and building card access monitoring.
  • Collaborate, Communicate and advise C-level Crisis Management Group on all aspects of physical security and operations including real and perceived internal or external threats.
  • Oversee physical security for all credit union locations, conducting 24x7x365 monitoring, working with vendors and creating escalation mechanisms and protocols for incident response including Security Guard Program.
  • Travel as required
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Criminal Justice, Law or equivalent work experience
  • Requires independent thinking, Ability to conduct in-depth research. 
  • Should be capable of handling highly confidential and sensitive information and work in a professional capacity with all applicable Federal, State and Local authorities and administrations. 
  • Must be capable of managing teams, coaching staff, and motivating them to deliver results on protecting key risk areas for the CU.
  • Prior experience in a similar role at any regulated financial institution is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Email & Internet, Electronic Communications, and Physical Security, MEP and Life Safety systems.
  • Capable of working 1on1 with C-level executives and handling sensitive CU matters.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading people and activities. Ability to motivate, direct and coach staff.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Technologically proficient.
