Position Summary 

This is a leadership position that provides oversight for strategic sales and daily sales activities, while directing Regional Sales Managers to work collaboratively to achieve company goals and targets.

Management Responsibilities

  • Increase revenue and profitability for Premise, Fiber, Wireless and Specialty Groups
  • Identify, develop and maintain new and existing opportunities for growth in multiple geographic regions
  • Provide strong sales leadership to outside sales force to achieve individual and company targets
  • Monitor individual and team progress through goal setting and monitoring measurable objectives
  • Emphasis focus on customer service
  • Coordinate with inside sales
  • Interact and work with various distributors, contractors, PCA reps, sales managers and executives to achieve company goals 
  • Work with Rep’s group to enhance and increase profitability and PCA’s position in the market
  • Build relationships internally with multiple departments, i.e.   Manufacturing, Engineering, Inside Sales
  • Influence and promote PCA to National Distributors
  • Subscribe to and practice 5S, JIT, and Process Improvement activities
  • Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.

 

Customer Accounts

  • Prospect new customers and develop relationships 
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities 
  • Develop new and existing connectivity partners 
  • Add new distribution channels
  • Introduce new products to create revenue stream, increasing market share
  • Maintain close working relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction with products and services
  • Work with installers and end users
  • Propose innovative selling solutions 
  • Cross sell additional PCA products
  • Travel with Regional Sales Managers 
  • Work w/ marketing to develop market assessments and plans for presentations to prospective and existing customers
  • Provide feedback on competitive pricing, and changing market trends

 

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years previous sales experience in wire and cable industry selling to distribution channels 
  • Technical understanding of the cable and wire products and business, technology and process is required
  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred 
  • Experience and success in leveraging customer relationships to identify and develop new opportunities and drive revenues
  • High-level business acumen
  • Persistent and consistent communication 
  • Strong ability to influence decision-makers in a variety of industries 
  • Accurate identification of customer needs and product selection
  • Proven ability to overcome customer objections and concerns
  • Motivational leader with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent collaborator and team player
  • Ability to develop, build, and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Secure customer appointments with leads  
  • Monitor and maintain required reports, including customer and order tracking via computerized systems, excel, etc.    
  • Outstanding communication skills verbally and written
  • Persistent and consistent communication and contact with all customers 
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Organizational skills including ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel frequently and/or as required

 

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent travel by automobile, plane, etc. through PCA territories to customers, outside sales personnel, business meetings, conferences and/or trade shows
  • Position also works in an office environment, sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk
  • Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer and operating of office equipment on daily basis
  • Light lifting, carrying of files, supplies, ability to move, carry, lift up to 30 lbs. of objects
  • Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person 
  • Requires sufficient autonomy, standing and walking to move from one office location to another
