Job Summary: The Category Marketing Manager plays a key role in NEFCO’s Marketing Department and is responsible for managing the company’s product strategy. This highly visible, leadership role will take ownership of supplier relationships and focus primarily on building profitable product strategies aimed at increasing company revenue, margin and delivering market share gains. This includes; managing supplier rebates, buying agreements, new product introductions, line reviews and executing key marketing initiatives to deliver company goals. This will be a high visibility role that drives strategic NEFCO product management.


Job Duties:

Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and execute broad product strategies aimed at maximizing sales, profitability and increasing market share for NEFCO across SHARP, TOOLS+ and Safety categories.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation of brands and categories, with sku rationalization and margin enhancement at the forefront. This includes redundant brands and product categories.
  • Identify gaps in current product offering to increase share of wallet with existing NEFCO customers.
  • Identify new product categories, contractor verticals and market segments for incremental growth opportunities with new NEFCO customers.
  • Develop and execute a formal plan for new product introductions within the NEFCO system. Engage with procurement teams accordingly to ensure stocking levels are in place to support new products and promotions. Build and execute marketing programs to create awareness and increase revenue for new products with NEFCO’s customer base.
  • Develop and execute a formal plan for regional and seasonal inventory in key NEFCO markets, while executing marketing plans to increase revenue, margin and market share.
  • Analyze trends in the construction industry and with competitors, in order to align the company’s product strategy to effectively deliver revenue and margin goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments at NEFCO to ensure key decision-making processes are in place and being utilized at all times.

Supplier Relations

  • Engage regularly with NEFCO suppliers to make key decisions on vendor programs, agreements and other strategic initiatives. Create and execute marketing plans to drive those strategic initiatives and deliver results.
  • Identify core NEFCO suppliers by category and create a matrix of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers. Align and position all marketing and sales activities in accordance with this matrix, in order to increase revenue, margin and increase market share.
  • Play a lead role in the NEFCO rebate process. Identify new supplier rebate programs, negotiate favorable terms and build marketing programs to increase revenue and meet goals. Measure progress and course-correct throughout the year as needed.
  • Own the process of NEFCO Supplier Buying Agreements (SBA’s) and support NEFCO CoOp programs where needed. Formalize key programs and terms on behalf of NEFCO to ensure accurate business planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or communications
