The position: We are seeking to fill a Vehicle Mechanic position. Under the supervision of the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, the Vehicle Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, maintains and repairs vehicles and equipment owned by SHA.

The ideal candidate has:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have finished a 4-year apprenticeship or be a certified journey-level mechanic.
- It's a plus if you have ASE certifications or recent training on hybrid and electric vehicles.
- A valid Washington State driver's license and a clean driving record.
What will you do?
- Inspect and repair vehicles: Perform safety and preventative maintenance inspections on wide range of fleet vehicles such as EVs, cargo vans, light/medium duty trucks and forklifts. Repair any and all issues found to ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
- Replace and repair tires: Efficiently perform tire repairs/replacement as needed on light duty vehicles.
- Perform proper diagnosis: Must be proficient in performing Engine, electrical, transmission, and NVH diagnostics on electric, gas, and diesel vehicles.
- Upfit and fabrication: Ability to follow vender installation instructions on various upfit accessories. Ability to weld and perform sheet metal work.
- Work in team environment: Ability to communicate with and assist teammates as needed.
- Shop cleanliness: Demonstrate ability to keep shop clean, organized, and stocked to minimize any hazards as well has as maximize efficiency. Maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Keep work environment safe: Shop safety is a priority. Must demonstrate ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
