RN - Emergency Department - Nights chez Delta Hospital

Under the direction of the Emergency Department Director, delivers quality nursing care to patients from age’s newborn to geriatric on an assigned unit. Assures that a patient/family needs are met. Provides open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physicians, other units and departments. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Builds and maintains professional relationships. Works diligently to build and maintain excellent customer service skills.

• Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room.
• Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system.
• Time management is crucial.
• Responsible for moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications and maintaining proper supplies.
•  Performs focused assessment of chief complaints of each patient in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines.
• Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act.
