As AI Partnerships Director based in our HQ in Sydney, you will report to the Vice-President of Innovation and Intelligence and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways:
- Partnership Builder: identification and engagement with the companies that shape the AI ecosystem: Hyperscalers, neoclouds, chip and server manufacturers, frontier model makers (AI labs, inference platforms, government agencies, etc. The focus is to understand deployment needs for AI compute capacity, build multidisciplinary partnerships to attract large AI capacities to AirTrunk’s DCs.
- Policy Influencer: understand and influence policies around AI development in the countries where AirTrunk operates.
- Leadership: becoming AirTrunk’s subject matter expert on AI geopolitics, AI ecosystems, Sovereign AI and AI policies in general.
- Strategy Development: Expanding and growing AirTrunk’s AI go-to-market strategy, and researching and administering the intelligence around AI infrastructure: customer requirements, current and future technologies, geographical and geopolitical considerations, etc.
Your Day to Day
- Engage in a regular basis with Hyperscalers, neoclouds, chip and server manufacturers, frontier model makers, inference platforms, government agencies, etc, actively pursuing partnerships across multi-sector bodies, and partnering with Customer Success team on deals generated through the engagement.
- Understand AI use cases and explore opportunities for integration of DC capacities through different industry verticals.
- Administer the projections of AI capacities in a global and regional context, understanding the drivers for shifting geographically and technologically.
- Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, understanding and documenting them. This includes researching written materials, participating in industry forums and events and engaging with thought leaders in the industry.
- Actively work with the Government Relations team to understand the development of different government regulations and restrictions on the implementation and use of AI within countries where AirTrunk and AirTrunk’s customers operate and understanding the partnership opportunities.
- Represent AirTrunk at industry conferences, workshops and meetings with stakeholders and partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in AI, Computer Science, IT, electronics or any other relevant disciplines.
- Proven experience in business development, technology sales, technology implementation and/or operations of IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on building partnerships across technology companies, businesses and government agencies.
- Deep knowledge about AI infrastructure and the ways in which politics, policy and regulations affect the competition to build AI infrastructure at speed.
- Knowledge of IT hardware and network topologies used in IT infrastructure: chips, servers, network devices, ancillary devices, racks, etc. Particular relevance is the understanding of AI and Cloud infrastructure, Nvidia platforms and other related technologies.
- Understanding of the physical infrastructure around DC infrastructure requirements and components: land, energy, water, power, cooling, security, etc.
- Deep knowledge of AI ecosystem partners, with working relationships at global level in a number of entities.
- Strategic thinking, effective cross-functional collaborator, capable of translating technical infrastructure needs into clear and actionable strategies.
- Strong communicator who can engage diverse audiences, from engineers to government officials to investors.
- Excited by the opportunity to help build frameworks for responsible infrastructure growth.
- Enjoy synthesizing information from a variety of sources, analysing policy data, and communicating through written, verbal and visual presentations.
