Overview:
CBIZ is seeking a skilled Manager to join our Tax Transformation team. The ideal candidate will leverage deep analytical expertise and tax knowledge to drive process improvements, implement digital solutions, and support strategic change initiatives within our tax practice. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, design effective solutions, and facilitate the successful adoption of tax technologies across the firm.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
- Partner with tax professionals and IT teams to identify and implement opportunities to streamline and standardize tax processes leveraging offshore resources, automation, process reengineering and advanced workflow technologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Gather, document, and translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements that align with project objectives and enable scalable tax transformation solutions.
- Develop comprehensive process maps, workflow diagrams, and business requirements documents that clearly outline current and future state processes.
- Facilitate design workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process walkthroughs to capture current-state and future-state workflows, gather feedback, and document recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with our Business Intelligence & AI teams to implement advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven solutions to empower tax teams with actionable insights that enhance strategic decision making.
- Support project management activities, including timelines, resource planning, risk identification, and status reporting.
- Assist with change management efforts, including user training, documentation, and communication strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adoption metrics to measure success and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and advise on new technologies, vendors and products and stay updated with industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in tax and/or tax technology transformation (public accounting firm experience strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of tax processes (corporate, partnership, indirect, or international tax) and related technologies.
- Prior experience with major tax platforms such as those produced by Thomson Reuters and Wolters Kluwer
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills; ability to interact effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
- CPA certification
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 10% travel
Minimum Qualifications:
- College Degree or equivalent
- 3 years related experience
- Ability to lead and coordinate the team activities of others
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Ability to execute and draft technical instructions and guidelines
- Ability to document daily activities and system functions
- Able to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
- Ability to travel as required by business and on-call availability
