About this Role
We are seeking a Functional Lead to oversee Security Patching & Governance within the Group Data Centre Security Compliance function. This role is pivotal in ensuring Vodafone’s infrastructure and services remain compliant with security requirements, thereby protecting customer data and brand integrity. The individual will lead international coordination efforts for patching activities, manage risk acceptance processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive security initiatives across the organisation.
What you will do
- Lead and govern the international team responsible for planning and implementing security patching activities.
- Promote security awareness and standardise maintenance window practices across Local Markets and Group functions.
- Define and maintain service-level parameters to measure and enhance patch management processes, including compliance and automation.
- Drive initiatives to improve security posture, such as Windows Monthly Patching, Unix/Linux Blueprint, and Patch Automation.
- Ensure effective patching and remediation of vulnerabilities across infrastructure, applications, and middleware.
- Coordinate risk acceptance activities and align with lifecycle management programmes on system migrations and end-of-life planning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Group Functions, Local Markets, and Shared Service Centres to ensure seamless execution of patching strategies.
Who you are
- Experienced IT professional with 5–8 years in IT service and security management.
- Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT engineering, business management, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrates strong coordination, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in English with the ability to work in cross-cultural, international teams.
- Knowledgeable in SOX, ISO 9000/27000, PCI-DSS, ITIL, and agile methodologies.
- Skilled in managing patching cycles across Windows, Unix/Linux, databases, networks, and storage environments.
