Base Operations Manager

Position Summary

Ambipar Response is seeking a Base Operations Manager to lead daily operations in their assigned base, with a primary focus on dispatch, safety compliance, budgeting, employee development, and promoting sales. This role ensures high-quality emergency response and industrial services while maintaining operational efficiency and excellent customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

  • Drives safety initiatives with a focus on zero accidents, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Creates, implements, and regularly audits operational procedures to ensure safe, efficient delivery in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborates with assigned Managers to review customer requirements, reviews adjusts daily job schedules as needed by discussing priorities, equipment availability, and resolves service-related issues promptly to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Manages all aspects of waste management, including tracking, profiling, manifesting, and proper disposal in line with regulatory standards
  • Oversees adherence to environmental regulations including agency specific regulations from DEQ, EPA, CDOT, CDPHE, and others
  • Ensures timely and accurate submission of job sheets and documentation for billing and accounting purposes
  • Coordinates with Sales Representatives and Regional Managers to review planned or proposed work, ensuring the necessary resources are available to meet budgetary goals and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Ensures employees complete their tasks efficiently, safely, and in alignment with customer satisfaction goals
  • Enforces company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, attendance standards, regulatory training, substance abuse policies, and equipment care requirements
  • Conducts interviews for potential new hires, assigns duties, evaluates employee performance, addresses personnel issues, and provides motivation and training to foster efficiency, growth, and professional development
  • Monitors industry and market conditions to develop proactive sales strategies that address emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Participates in scheduled weekly operations and safety conference calls to stay informed and aligned with company objectives
  • Maintains regular communication with the Regional Operations Manager, Sales, and Corporate Management regarding the status of operations, customer relations, and strategic goals
  • Provides support to management in any other functions essential for successful branch operations
  • Ensures proper maintenance and operational readiness of all branch equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (with no restrictions)
  • Compliance with PHMSA requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Environmental and/or Industrial Services industry
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in an operational role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety and government compliance
  • Strong understanding of RCRA waste disposal regulations, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste profiling
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain client satisfaction
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (I.e. Business, Environmental Science, etc.)

Work Schedule/ Work Conditions

  • This candidate should be willing and available to work overtime as needed to meet project demands and deadlines, including extended hours, overtime, various shifts including nights and weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • This position may require extended periods of travel and working in inclement weather.
  • Must be able to stand and work on feet for 8–12 hour shifts.
  • Must be able to sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, reach, crawl, and kneel.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds by ear.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Jobs are frequently completed outside and if needed, in inclement weather conditions.
  • Perform work in confined spaces, heights, and/or in water.
  • May be exposed to non-hazardous and hazardous material.
  • Some aspects of the clean-up work may generate a significant amount of static electricity.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions and temperatures.
