We are seeking a Controls Technician who is a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability. This individual will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems that support manufacturing operations, while also providing technical support across Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams.
Second Shift (2 pm - 10 pm)
Essential Job Responsibilities
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair control system reliability issues, including control panels, wiring, sensors, instrumentation, vision systems, and VFDs.
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues throughout the plant.
Strong working knowledge of PLC logic and software tools, including Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, RS Logix.
Skilled in performing preventive maintenance and calibration on controls and instrumentation systems.
Ability to modify and update ladder logic to resolve production or system performance issues.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and technical documentation.
Respond promptly to maintenance and production support calls to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or control system issues, minimizing downtime.
Experience installing and configuring new I/O modules, sensors, and VFDs to integrate with existing systems.
Familiarity with CMMS systems for documenting maintenance activities, program changes, and system configurations.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to achieve production goals and minimize downtime.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and system integrity.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to train operators and junior technicians on basic troubleshooting and safe control system operation.
Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in metal stamping, fabrication, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Perform the job safely while adhering to company safety standards.
