We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in mechanical and piping works to manage and oversee an EPC contractor during the execution of a major industrial project. While mechanical and piping remain the primary focus, the Construction Manager will also coordinate civil construction and electrical & instrumentation (E&I) activities, supported by discipline engineers. The Construction Manager ensures that the EPC contractor delivers on safety, quality, schedule, and cost, while effectively managing progress and tracking action items.

Key Responsibilities

1. EPC Contractor Management & Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate the EPC      contractor’s construction activities across mechanical, piping, civil, and      E&I disciplines.
  • Review and validate construction      schedules, manpower forecasts, and resource planning.
  • Ensure the EPC contractor      complies with contractual obligations, project specifications, and      technical standards.
  • Track progress, open items, and      punch lists, ensuring timely closure and accountability.

2. Mechanical & Piping

  • Oversee equipment installation,      piping fabrication, welding, erection, testing, and commissioning      interfaces.
  • Ensure compliance with      international codes (ASME, API, EN, ISO, ASTM, etc.) and approved ITPs.
  • Review and approve contractor’s      method statements, work packs, and QA/QC documentation.

3. Civil & Structural

  • Supervise major civil works      (foundations, concrete, structural steel erection).
  • Verify quality, dimensional      control, and adherence to drawings/specifications.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers      for inspections, quality audits, and handovers.

4. Electrical & Instrumentation

  • Support monitoring of E&I      installation (cabling, trays, MCCs, instrumentation, control systems).
  • Coordinate testing, loop checks,      and interface with commissioning.
  • Work closely with E&I      engineers to resolve technical and schedule issues.

5. Safety, Quality & Risk Management

  • Enforce strict compliance with HSE      policies and safe work practices.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox      talks, and audits with EPC contractor.
  • Ensure robust quality control:      inspections, welding/NDT records, material traceability, and punch list      closure.
  • Proactively manage risks, delays,      and non-conformities with mitigation actions.

6. Stakeholder & Reporting

  • Act as primary site interface      between Owner, EPC contractor, and subcontractors.
  • Chair daily/weekly site      coordination meetings and ensure effective action tracking.
  • Provide progress, quality, and      risk reports to the Project Director/Project Manager.
  • Support smooth transition into pre-commissioning      and commissioning phases.
