Summary: The Settlement Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of grain transactions for multiple entities. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong relationships with farmers, grains suppliers and internal operations and commercial teams by handling settlements, reconciliations, and documentation with a high level of efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing settlement reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Applying payments or credit memos to specific invoices or other transactions
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies in trade or cash transactions
- Working settlement discounts and reconciliations
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth settlement process
- Maintain accurate records and documentation such as:
- Inbound/outbound ticket reconciliation of ScaleTrac to Agris
- Settlement of tickets - payments and accounts receivable
- Payment of operating expenses
- Preparation, review and analysis of various reports, including the daily position report, hedge position report and reconciliation report
- Filing and scanning of documents on shared drive
- Working with all plants on any Agris related accounting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business or related field desired
- 1 - 3 years experience in accounting, settlements grain merchandising, or agribusiness or other grain related experience preferred
- High level of integrity and accountability in financial transactions
- Experience with Microsoft Office and internet based applications
- Experience with Agris software preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills, etc.
- Valid Driver's License
