School Summary
Alabama Connections Academy (ALCA) is a tuition-free, online public-school serving students in grades K–12 across Alabama. ALCA is authorized by the Limestone County School District and began serving students in the 2017-18 school year. The school contracts with Connections Education LLC to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
This position is working with Alabama Connections Academy. From your home office or our office in Athens, the Manager of State Reporting will serve as part of the school’s leadership team to ensure regional data operations business continuity by documenting and maintaining critical state/federal/local data reporting requirements in a centralized repository. While overseeing and working with school personnel and Data Integration Analysts, this person will ensure accurate, timely delivery of regular and ad hoc reports which summarize data on students, staff, and schools including enrollment, demographics, performance, courses, etc.
This person will manage projects such as Civil Rights Data Collection reporting, National Student Clearinghouse, and others. The ideal candidate will have experience with educational reporting requirements and have expertise in data manipulation, reporting, and importing and exporting between applications. The Manager of State Reporting is responsible for accurately collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting student and school improvement data. This position also provides leadership to all areas of student and district assessment and evaluation as well as district and federal reporting and accountability.
Key responsibilities include the following:
● Research, anticipate, plan, and implement successful measures regarding changes in reporting requirements and develop new solutions or processes for self-and/or team that creates efficiency
● Extract district data from various source systems (e.g., student information system and
LMS)
● Performs data analysis using spreadsheets and other software to report and analyze student assessment, graduation, enrollment, attendance, and other data
● Create ad hoc reports on enrollment, attendance, student performance, etc. for internal
and external audiences
● Assures security and protection of student information and prepares/presents reports to various stakeholders
● Provides supervision for the state reporting and validation process of student information
● Ensures alignment of data submission and data management to all relevant local, state, and federal guidelines
● Serves as a resource for all district staff about accountability systems and processes used at the state level
● Monitors and provides communication to relevant district staff about accountability reporting, publication deadlines, and system changes

Requirements
● Experience in K-12 education and/or State educational reporting
● Background in Math, Statistics, Education or Social Science Research, or related field
● Operational or logistics experience and/or administrative or management experience
● Power Excel user
● 1+ years' experience with project management and evidence of success as a project manager
● Familiarity with SQL Server queries and Reporting Services, PowerBI preferred
● Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks and competing deadlines
