Astria Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team! This is a Temporary position M-F 8am-5pm at our Dental Clinic.
What you get to do every day!
This position is responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Registered Dental Hygienist or Dentist. You will:
- Conducts complete patient X-ray procedures, including panoramic and cephalometric radiographs and intra oral photographs. Develops and stores the X-rays in the electronic patient's dental record.
- Records periodontal charting per the Providers’ instruction.
- Maintains patient medical records, updating patient medical history and vital signs as needed.
- Prepares and sets up instruments and equipment necessary for the patient exam/procedures performed by the Provider.
- Performs preventative care on patients, including applying coronal polish, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
- Provides education and counsel in oral hygiene for patients in the clinic and school-based outreach programs
- Assists in implementing and monitoring the patient infection control program for the clinic, including ensuring the integrity of sterile packaging, and sterilizing operatories.
- Ability to perform four-handed dental assisting, including instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, and spatulation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
