Role accountabilities:
As an Environmental Scientist, you will apply your technical knowledge to provide high quality deliverables to support various projects in the western United States across a range of sectors. You will be an important member of the Enviro Socio Permitting team interacting with other environmental scientists, ecologists, cultural resource specialists, planners, engineers, senior technical experts and project/program managers as part of an interdisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for assisting in environmental survey field efforts that could include groundwater and surface water sampling, soil testing, construction oversight, and ecological surveys. You will collect field data using handheld global positioning system units and tablets utilizing Fulcrum, FieldMaps, Survey 123 for ArcGIS, or similar programs. This will require a working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours. Experience and proficiency in ArcGIS or ArcPro is preferred. This role will require the ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel.
You will be tasked with preparing technical reports, work plans, and other environmental documents to summarize field efforts and assist environmental compliance and permitting. This will require excellent organizational skills; the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies; and proficiency in managing multiple tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or similar environmental discipline.
- 1+ years of experience conducting environmental field work as well as the completion of associated reporting.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive reports/permit applications.
- Experience using GPS field technology.
Preferred qualifications:
- 40-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification
- New Miner 24 hour Mine Safety and Health Administration certification

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $49,390 - $79,023 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
