Head of Quality, Singapore - Your future position?

Working location: 1 Woodlands Avenue 8

Reporting to: Head of Operations, Singapore

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Build quality culture engrained in all Operations functions and with employees
  • Ensure agreement with important partners on strategic direction and priorities of the site, including regional projects
  • Support development of targeted quality communication to internal and external customers
  • Improve shop floor quality and implement local vendor and customer quality programs in line with global/regional policy
  • Ensure maintenance of local quality and food safety systems according to global policies
  • Coordinate risk-based and value adding internal audit programme
    • Foster site implementation and audit compliance with internal and external standards (such as ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, RSPO, Halal, AIB, Singapore Food Authority, Food Safety System Verification - FSSV)
  • Ensure stakeholder buy-in of agreed changes and principles
  • Coordinate and assist regional implementation, change management and monitor progress through tailored scorecards or dashboards
  • Promote improvement of internal, customer and vendor quality performance through targeted projects, in collaboration with Continuous Improvement where applicable
  • Support implementation of programmes (incl. Givaudan Production System) to meet customer and industry standards
  • Provide solutions and define/improve programmes to meet customer quality requirements and develop customer engagement and partnerships
  • Implement quality lab improvements within site aligned with policies and systems
  • Monitor and support quality non-conformances resolution, ensuring in-depth root cause analysis, trend analysis and stringent action follow-up incl. validation of resolution effectiveness
    • Manage critical customer complaints and escalate
    • Coordinate crisis preparedness and response to crisis events, including recalls
  • Communicate site specific and cascaded quality and food safety trends and focus areas to Operations
  • Support engineering projects with review and expertise (incl. CAPEX planning)
  • Take full responsibility of the Quality Cost Centre
  • Manage talent performance and succession planning
  • Ensure complexities to be managed are supported by equivalent staff responsibilities and capabilities
  • Set and monitor targets, assess performance, and implement mitigating actions
  • Contribute to local / regional projects and promote knowledge/best practices sharing
  • Facilitate systematic quality and food safety expertise and skill development through coaching and best practice sharing to all staff

 

Main Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or business degree with technical experience
  • Minimum 7 years working experience in the Quality function
  • Flavour or food ingredient industry experience required
  • Experience in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems / Standards
  • Experience with quality management processes such as ingredient life cycle management, vendor quality, customer quality requirements management, continuous improvement, complaint, issue and crisis management, industrialization, audit and change management
  • Experience with manufacturing technologies, product characteristics and dynamic industries with high complexity (SKUs, demand fluctuations, MTO, high innovation, rapid development cycles)
