Role Summary

The Health Economics Manager, Marketed Brands, will play a key role in communicating the value of AbbVie’s innovative medicines in the UK. The role will support the development of compelling value propositions for priority marketed brands, leveraging health economics analysis and real-world evidence (RWE) to strengthen access and brand positioning with key stakeholders. This is an opportunity to actively shape access and success of AbbVie’s priority marketed brands in the UK, delivering greater patient benefit through evidence-driven value propositions.

The Health Economics Manager, Marketed Brands will report directly to the UK Market Access Director.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert health economics support for priority marketed brands, working cross-functionally with Market Access, Brand Teams, Medical, External Affairs.
  • Lead the identification, generation, and application of health economic evidence to support brand value and access strategies.
  • Support the development and communication of robust brand value propositions using health economic analyses and models, and leveraging real-world data.
  • Collaborate with external experts and advisory groups to validate evidence and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to apply innovative health economic methodologies to differentiate priority marketed brands in the UK market.
  • Support ongoing education and training for cross-functional teams on the application of health economic analyses to priority marketed brands.
  • Leads the preparation and delivery of presentations for internal and external stakeholders on health economic initiatives.
  • Evaluate competitor value propositions and assess market trends to guide evidence generation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and ethical standards in the generation and application of health economic evidence.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field, with advanced degree in Health Economics or equivalent experience
  • Experience in designing, conducting, and interpreting health economic analyses
  • Proven experience in health economics within the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, or NHS
  • Advanced knowledge of UK healthcare system including NHS structure, datasets, funding mechanisms, and payer decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience in the utilisation of real-world evidence (RWE)
  • Evidence of project management skills, delivering work on time with attention to detail and strategic alignment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex economic concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Track record of collaborating in cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to drive results
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
