Are you a proactive and ambitious salesperson with a passion for books and a love for closing a deal? We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Rights Manager to join our International team here in London.

DK is a global publisher of internationally bestselling authors and illustrators across fiction, non-fiction, adult and children’s publishing. We have been pioneering ways to bring knowledge and adventure to people around the world for over 50 years.

Our International Publishing & Licensing department is a cornerstone of our global business and publishing philosophy. We are a multicultural, multilingual team of sales professionals based in London, Beijing, Tokyo, and more. We pride ourselves on our international reach and depth of knowledge of world-publishing markets and the interests of our readers everywhere.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of and grow DK's business with a special focus on the French-speaking market(s). We are looking for someone with a can-do, positive attitude who enjoys the challenge of exceeding targets and developing new business opportunities.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Confidently negotiating the best possible terms for Licensed Coeditions, disk, and royalty deals to help reach our overall targets.

  • Actively seeking out new partners to broaden DK's reach, while building and maintaining long-term partnerships with our fantastic existing customers.

  • Achieving and exceeding annual sales and margin targets for your territory.

  • Independently forecasting, managing your budget, and reporting on your business area, ensuring all systems are kept up-to-date.

  • Providing timely and relevant editorial feedback to help shape DK’s future publishing programmes.

  • Presenting our incredible frontlist and backlist titles at international book fairs and on sales trips.

  • Tracking titles through the production process and proactively solving any issues with internal teams to ensure a successful delivery.

  • Working collaboratively with our contracts department to review and finalise agreements in a timely manner.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and a commercial mindset, with a flair for identifying priorities that will make the biggest impact on targets. Confidence as a skilled negotiator and deep understanding of global markets and publishing trends will set you apart.

Fluency in French and English is essential.

If you have a collaborative and supportive spirit, ready to share knowledge and contribute to the team's growth as an engaged and proactive member, we would love to hear from you!
