The Mechanical Contracting Project Manager & Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed estimates and generating proposals for a wide range of mechanical contracting projects, with a primary focus on HVAC systems. This role encompasses coordination across multiple trades, including but not limited to equipment, piping, ductwork, electrical, crane and rigging, insulation, testing and balancing, controls, fire alarm systems, concrete, and structural steel.

In addition to estimating responsibilities, this individual manages small to mid-sized projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong organizational and communication skills to deliver successful project outcomes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· While the position has no direct reports, when managing projects this role has full personnel supervisory responsibility for projects within their portfolio, including, Brady associates, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Partner with the sales team and engineering to evaluate HVAC replacement projects and develop turnkey solutions

• Document owner requirements for desired system functionality, and scopes of work to be included in the proposal

• Solicit bids from various equipment suppliers, sub contractors, and internal teams

• Turn concepts, rough or detailed drawings into detailed estimates

• Prepare professional proposals and aid in the sale as needed

• Manage the construction of assigned projects

• Understand basic control sequences and system operation

• Execute all pre-planning details including, but not limited to, preparation of bill of materials and pre-ordering of materials and equipment needed to complete the project

• Continuously communicate with the scheduler, field superintendents, and project management team leader to coordinate manpower, material and subcontractor needs

• Support Field foreman by preparing detailed project execution plans

• Overall responsibility for project fulfillment and safety oversight

• Develop and manage a budget based on the estimate and site conditions

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices.

• Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company’s mission and values.

• Must be able to work overtime/weekends, as required.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s degree in construction, project management or related field from an accredited institution is preferred but not required

• 2+ years of related experience working in the commercial HVAC industry or mechanical piping industry

• Working knowledge of computer systems (including laptops and cell phones) and software systems such as Microsoft Office, basic AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Procore, and estimating software

• Mechanical H1, H2 and/or H3 licensing is required within 1 year of employment

• Construction or project management certification is preferred but not required

• Ability to pass drug screening

• Ability to prove US employment eligibility

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

During the job site visits, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
