Team Leader, Camps Experience chez WinShape Foundation

Scope of Position: Lead the development and delivery of the complete day camps activities palette and intentional camp culture to create engaging fun, a sense of belonging for all campers, and a relevant, age-specific experience that propels the mission of WinShape Camps forward. Lead staff specializing in Activities & Culture on the Camp Experience Team.

Reports to: Manager, Programs — WinShape Camp for Communities

• Develop, train, and implement the WinShape Camps for Communities Camper Engagement plan to equip Summer Staff to serve campers with a wide variety of behavioral needs.
• Lead the Camp Experience Team in the development and delivery of all activities-based content including, but not limited to, Skills (Basketball, Gymnastics, Wacky Science, etc.) and recreation.
• Lead the Camp Experience Team in the development and delivery of intentional camp culture that creates a sense of belonging for all campers.
• Support recruitment and retention efforts to create a rich pool of summer staff applicants—including the relational recruitment of returning staff and supporting on-campus new staff recruiting initiatives.
• Evaluate activities and camp culture elements for excellence and missional alignment, diagnose areas for improvement, and lead efforts to implement necessary changes.
• Create environmentally excellent spaces by collaborating with the Creative Services team to design and develop engaging physical expressions of camp culture (flags, signage, banners, etc.) and activities-based content and resources for camp.
• Develop the daily schedules for all camp locations in collaboration with the Program Team.
• Create and oversee training elements for all Summer Staff leading the activities-based elements of the camp program, including Activities Directors, Activities Specialists, and all Skill Leaders.
• Collaborate on the development and stewardship of the Camp Experience portions of the WinShape Camps for Communities budget.
• Work closely with the Foundation procurement team to manage WinShape Camps for Communities inventory.
• Provide leadership and performance reviews to employees of the Activities Team.
• Serve as a Point Lead for 1-2 camp teams to provide feedback, coaching, and problem-solving throughout the summer.
• Support the planning and execution of events such as Host Rally, Leadership Weekend, and Staff Training.
• Serve as a member and/or leader of assigned work team(s) as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Requires 2-4 years of relevant work experience to include leading people.
• Strong communication and relational skills.
• Preferred experience in age-specific programming and content creation for children.
• Experience in project management and leading teams.
• Demonstrates skills in written and verbal communication, time management, training facilitation, and goal setting.
• Willing to engage in moderate travel (10-20%) throughout the year and heavy travel (50-60%) in the summer.
• Maintain regular office hours at the WinShape Camps office in Atlanta.
• A self-professing Christ-follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.
• Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record.
