JOB SUMMARY

The Painter is responsible for applying coats of paint or other finishes to various weldments, control panels, junction boxes, sheet metal brackets and guarding using a high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) spray gun. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Follow work order or receive instructions from supervisor.

· Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and repairing cracks, holes, and other imperfections.

· Apply primers or sealers to prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring proper adhesion and durability of the finish.

· Utilize spray gun to paint surfaces, as appropriate.

· Ability to touch up blemished surfaces, without compromising integrity.

· Maintain paint supply lists and submit orders as required.

· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and disposal of paint, solvents, and other materials in accordance with local regulations.

OTHER DUTIES 

· Maintain clean and orderly work area (booth filters, floor coverings, paint waste, etc.)

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· High School degree or GED.

· 2 years’ experience as a painter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

· Basic computer skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, paint application methods, and finishing processes.

· Knowledge of paint types, colors, and mixing ratios.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and paint specifications.

· Attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Physical stamina and dexterity to perform painting tasks in various environments and conditions.
