Integrated Business Planning Analyst

Position

OMG uses Integrated Business Planning (IBP), a comprehensive, cross-functional planning approach that aligns strategic, operational, and financial goals across the organization. IBP fosters collaboration between departments such as finance, supply chain, sales, new product development and operations to create unified plans that support long-term objectives. Key elements of IBP include strategic alignment, scenario planning, and performance monitoring, all of which help us respond effectively to market changes. IBP also integrates financial forecasting with operational planning, enabling data-driven decisions and improving transparency, agility, and accountability throughout the business. Reporting to the IBP Manager, the IBP Analyst drives accurate and timely forecasts, tracks key metrics, and provides insights that drive better decision making across the business. This key resource supports the alignment of sales and operations forecasts with business goals, considers alternative scenarios to better prepare for market volatility and risk, and supports the creation of long-term planning models. The position demands strong analytical, communication and time management skills.  

Position Responsibilities

  • Promote safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align forecasts with strategic goals and market dynamics.
  • Support the creation of long-range planning models that incorporate economic outlooks and alternative business scenarios.
  • Validate and analyze sales forecasts to ensure accurate data is used for demand planning.
  • Validate and analyze data from demand and supply teams to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Conduct gap analyses on forecast vs. actuals and report on trends to improve performance.
  • Identify and analyze trends, risks, and opportunities for business optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting processes, tools, and deliverables.
  • Present insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare data, presentations, and reports for IBP meetings.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Science).
  • 2+ years’ experience analyzing business processes (experience with IBP, SIOP and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong analytical skills, including data collection and analysis, ability to identify and follow trends and reporting capability.
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to convey key messages through visualization and charts.
  • Ability to implement process improvement measures (understanding of Lean principles preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success contributing as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, such as a computer.
  • Ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone.
