JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:  Custodian/Maintenance

Job Title Code:  2114

Salary:  $23.00-$28.00 hourly based upon experience

Number of Days Worked:  260 days - 8 Hours daily (8:30 am - 5:00 PM), 30 Minute Required Break)

Department:  Program Services - Buildings and Grounds

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor/Job Summary:  Working under the direction of the Buildings and Grounds Coordinator and the Executive Director of Program Services.

General Responsibilities:  To clean, sanitize, make minor repairs, and conduct general maintenance to ESU #3 owned/operated buildings.  Assist with room setups and support of Conference Center and other Departmental meeting operations.  Assist with receiving, sorting, and delivery of COOP items. Monitor the safety of the environment.   

Essential Requirements:  

  1. No history of child abuse or negligence.
  2. Minimum of a high school diploma.
  3. Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
  4. The assigned duties of this position are not eligible for remote work consideration.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  1. Maintain a daily routine for cleaning/sanitizing in the ESU #3 building.
  2. Perform general maintenance to include minor painting and drywall repair, replace light bulbs, etc. This may include small projects using a variety of hand and power tools.
  3. Ensure that Conference Center rooms and Departmental Conference rooms are set up/clean, and ready for use according to Hospitality Worksheets provided.
  4. Perform routine preventative maintenance, filter changes, inspections etc.
  5. Carpet cleaning/extraction and strip and refinish hard surface floors as needed.
  6. Assist with receiving, sorting and delivery of COOP items.
  7. Become familiar with and implement universal health precautions to ensure a safe environment for yourself and all building occupants. 
  1. Be familiar with MSDS sheets for all products used in the building.
  2. Participates in in-service training and staff development as requested.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned by the Buildings & Grounds Coordinator.
  4. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
  5. Communicate areas of concern to the Buildings & Grounds Coordinator.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
