Our Internship Program

MiddleGround Capital offers student internships to both undergraduate and graduate students during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Throughout an individual’s time with our team, they will experience unique opportunities, and gain a new set of skills to take with them into the work force. Our team of interns assist MiddleGround Operations, Investment, Investor Relations, Business Development, Marketing, and Back Office teams in evaluating potential portfolio companies and additional opportunities. Interns and MGC work together to find the middle ground between showing initiative and building a fundamentally sound program that is mutually beneficial.

Program Overview:

The Summer Analyst intern positions are based in-person in the Lexington, KY office and report directly to members of our Investment Team.

Our goal is to help prep students for their future careers in Investment Banking and Private Equity by giving them "real life" experience. These students will have the opportunity to pull together their own IC memo and present to a group of PE professionals within MGC. Our hope is to help young people land jobs/internships with established investment banks, complete IB analyst programs and eventually move into the private equity industry. Requirements

Key Traits and Responsibilities

• Collaborates and communicates with internal stakeholders, including the broader Investment and management teams
• Maintains a "can do," excited attitude, and a willingness to learn and be a sponge
• Offers insights based on coursework in, finance, business or related areas
• Supports Investment-specific projects such as IC memos, third-party diligence, and DealCloud organization
• Takes initiative on projects delegated by the Investment team
• Takes feedback seriously and strives to constantly be improving

Requirements

• Student currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or advanced degree program Finance, Business, Management, or related field
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience with Excel or exposure to accounting platforms is a plus
• Naturally curious and unafraid to ask questions
• Able to work independently and cross-collaboratively with other teams
