Position Responsibilities:
- Provides support to the Pharmacy Manager as it relates to the operations of the pharmacy department through monitoring the activities necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of the pharmacy department, providing quality products and services to patients.
- Maintains responsibility for the coordination of patient services with the nursing, delivery and reimbursement departments.
- At the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, supervises pharmacy operations and coordinates departmental activities including inventory management, compounding, dispensing and clinical monitoring activities.
- Oversees the receipt and disposition of all medications to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Manages personnel issues for pharmacy department, coordinating staff schedules, on-call coverage, performance evaluations and exit interviews in coordination with the Pharmacy Manager.
- Ensures that all compounding staff are compliant and implementing all policies and procedures, processes, etc. to comply with USP 795, 797 and 800 requirements.
- Reviews and implements drug therapy policies and practices to comply with safe and effective use of medications and ensure patient and staff safety.
- Responsible for the appropriate purchasing, control and security of all drug products and medical supplies.
- Ensures that all daily departmental charges are entered and reconciled for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures all inventory invoices are logged and payment requests are submitted in timely fashion.
- Responsible for delivering clinical support/service, planning, directing and implementing business strategies
- In conjunction with pharmacy staff, coordinates all aspects of CCC pharmacy activities including interdisciplinary rounds, EMR documentation, order generation and transcription, timely compounding scheduling in anticipation of infusions, etc.
- Collects, analyzes and reports on clinical and operations information in support of process, systems and policy redesign.
- Assist staff during seasonal peaks responding to criteria/clinical questions, reviewing adverse coverage determinations and complying with all regulatory requirements.
- This position will serve as principle support for all the various software/hardware applications throughout the center and work directly with different vendors to ensure uninterrupted service.
Functions as a Staff Pharmacist when needed.
Qualifications:
- Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
- B.S. or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. Masters Degree preferred.
- Completion of a 1-year pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency and/or fellowship, or at least five years of pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
- To serve as Pharmacy Manager for the Modified Institutional Class II B Pharmacy License and
Pharmacy in Charge for the Special Sterile Compounding Pharmacy License:
